Riff on the Ikea 19" Rast Rack

This is weight_d's version of my Ikea 19" Rast Rack. Mr D did a bit of a mod shifting the bottom shelf down to gain an extra U of rack space for a total of 7U. A Nice job and it's used to house a switch, 500Gb NAS, router, 2 computers, oscilloscope, signal generator and three power supplies.

Vietnamese Coffee

Vietnamese Coffe or Cà phê sữa đá as it's known in Vietnamese is a coffee drink that really packs a punch. Sweetened with condensed milk I prefer it poured over ice to mellow the taste and cut some of the sweetness. The folks at Gadling do a good job of explaining the details. 6 heads of garlic peeled
bring water to a boil and
parboil the garlic for about 3 min
drain, dry and cool

the paste
a cup and a bit of miso paste
4 TBSPS of mirin

the rest
add a layer of miso to the bottom of a jar
add some garlic
then more miso
more garlic (you get the picture)
give it a good stir to ensure all garlic is covered
close the jar and store in a cool place
wait one week (or more) and enjoy

uniglo

I came across Uniqlo during a trip to Tokyo last year. They specialize in simple, reasonably priced (for Japan at least) clothing for men and women. Unfortunately my less than Japanese physique was unable to comfortably fit into any of the clothes although I did almost purchase a scarf. Better Flickr Photostream View Info

So you're addicted to Flickr and obsessed with knowing how many people have been viewing your pictures. Well, addicted and obsessed may be a bit extreme but it's still nice information to know. If you're running Firefox and you have Greasemonkey installed you're in luck.

Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension allowing for the customization of certain web pages to enhance their look and function. Tons of pre-canned scripts are available and easily installed into Greasemonkey to quickly transform sites with little or no user configuration. One such script called Photostream Graphr adds a little graph to the top of your Flickr home page to show you cumulative daily, up to the minute photo stream views. Over the course of a month you will see the daily trend develop in a graphed form. Mine can be seen as a squiggly pink line with a blue dot and the number 91 in the top right of the photo below...

Since I've just installed the Photostream Graphr on a new machine it's just starting to collect data but over time I should see trends on more of a monthly level. For an example of a Photostream Graphr with more data check out the post on Flickr here. I think the graph image has been updated in the most recent version but you should get the idea.
